Our Superintendent capability removes the complexities of project managing the construction and delivery phases of a development and plays a pivotal role in achieving the right financial outcome for clients and their stakeholders.
We bring a sound understanding of contract law, as well as strong technical skills, to each project, providing our clients with expert advice, undertaking independent assessment and applying practical and contractual expertise throughout the construction project. This includes playing a key role in confirming project compliance with requirements of the contract and certifying payment claims and extensions of time, as well as variations to the project.
Our team also have experience delivering projects in accordance with a variety of Australian Standard and bespoke contract frameworks, and the multitude of government agreements used around the country.
While the role of Superintendent varies depending on the nature and requirements of each project, typical tasks include:
- Monitoring progress and reporting on deviations.
- Monitoring compliance and ensuring specification and authority requirements are met.
- Administering the contract, including any and all notices.
- Liaising with the Principal and Contractor.
- Managing certifications.
- Determining when early access or completion is achieved and issuing relevant certificates.
- Identifying any conflicts that could affect progress of construction and working with the Project Team to resolve them.
- Coordinating required inspections with local jurisdictions.
Where a client requests us to undertake the role of both Project Manager and Superintendent, we have appropriate frameworks in place to ensure any potential conflicts are removed so we can maintain our role as an independent assessor.
