Kymbal Dunne

Partner, Joint National Head of Private Office, AU

Kymbal has over 40 year’s experience in Sydney’s real estate industry. He is Partner and Joint National Head of Private Office at Knight Frank Australia. His role today involves providing superior service to ultra high net wealth individuals (UHNWI), private investors and institutional clients of the business. He does this by having an in-depth understanding of his key client’s and their property needs. His goal is to be their trusted advisor. Private Office’s focus is Commercial, Residential and International real estate. Knight Frank is a global business and Kymbal travels to many of our international offices, where he has strong collegiate relationships and friendships with local Knight Frank experts, as well as property owners and corporations. Each year he immerses himself in the USA where he spends two weeks in San Francisco and New York. He does this because San Francisco is the engine room of the United States for business and New York is the capital of high-end real estate. If global trends start, then they invariably occur in either city or find their way to these two cities quickly. Our Australian clients need to understand those trends to have an advantage. Likewise, if they need to see things firsthand then they need someone to connect them or travel and guide them. Private Office allows Kymbal to connect clients and property through our people. For an international business to have a functioning network it needs real estate experts who are committed travellers, like Kymbal. People who think globally but can work locally. By referring business and maintaining regular contact, Kymbal builds relationships and trusts. This is vital to his success and it creates a supportive business network where our business can thrive. The role is not just introducing clients to opportunities but also solving problems. Real estate involves people and processes and things go wrong from time to time. Kymbal will fix them or arrange to fix those problems. With his experience and his skills, he has the expertise. Half of Kymbal’s career has been as a self-employed business person who built and sold two businesses that specialised in a geography or a skill in real estate. The other half has been as an employee of some outstanding companies. His experience covers office and project leasing, commercial and investment sales, management of office buildings, acquisition of investment property, residential lettings and funds management. He is experienced in running projects and achieving success as the owner’s representative. Kymbal has completed over eight years education and holds an associate diploma in valuation and certificates in real estate and auctioneering. Kymbal was the 2012 winner of the prestigious, REI NSW Woodrow Weight award and has won over 20 annual awards for Office Leasing, Project Leasing and Commercial Sales. He has featured in promotions of the Real Estate Institute under the heading “Credibility”. He is also a member of the Real Estate Institute of NSW and serves on the Commercial Chapter where he was a past Chairman and a member of The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, also associate of the Australian Property Institute. Real estate has been my career and interest for most of my life, and I am proud to be a part of such an interesting and challenging industry.
