_Knight Frank Australia 2024 Student Program | Your next step in the property industry
Read first-hand what the program is really like as told by student Jasmyn from our 2023 cohort.
1. Tell us about your experience with the Knight Frank Student Program.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the Knight Frank Student Program. Through the program I was able to grasp a better understanding of the property industry and the different roles in each department. The program also helped me build work relationships with professionals in the industry.
2. How did you hear about the Program and what made you apply?
I found out about the program through QUT, an email was sent out from my unit coordinator about the Knight Frank Student Program. I applied as I was always interested in pursuing a career in the property industry but was waiting for an opportunity to step foot into the door.
3. What business line did you enjoy the most during your rotation?
It’s too hard to pick one as I enjoyed every rotation with all four business lines. Every rotation was different, and I was able to learn different skills from each one.
4. What did you like most about the Program?
"What I liked most about the program is how welcoming and supportive everyone at Knight Frank is. Working in such a positive and supportive environment helped me successfully build my knowledge and skills. I also liked that we got the opportunity to try out four business lines as this helped me learn different skills as well as get to know everyone in the different departments"
5. What's one thing you'll take/you've taken away from this experience?
I have learnt so much from the whole experience, one is the importance of personal branding. Within the different roles, it is very important to build professional relationships and attend work/networking events.
6. Is there anything that surprised you about the program or that you weren't expecting?
Something that surprised me about the program is the amount of knowledge and skills that I was able to grasp during the eight weeks in each business line. Having a mentor in each rotation helped achieve this.
7. How do you balance your studies with the program and other commitments?
I balanced the program and my studies by making sure to keep up with assessments on my days off. Although it may be a big change at first, it will eventually come naturally. Being able to plan and prioritise is the most important thing. Knight Frank is super supportive and understanding about studies and during the program I was entitled to three days of study leave which was super helpful for final exam period.
8. Do you have any advice for students thinking about applying for the program?
My advice to students who are thinking about applying for the program is to ‘go for it’. It has been the most amazing experience and I’m so happy I applied. Take every opportunity available to learn and strengthen your skills, do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
