_Together for Our People
Our people come first.
Underpinning everything we do is the desire to provide a safe, healthy and balanced workplace where our people can be themselves and are valued for their individuality and diversity.
In the lead up to Christmas, we share some of the initiatives we have been involved in this year and how we are making a difference to our People through each of our pillars.
Here are some of the ways we have done just that.
We launched our Talent Acquisition video.
Some of our people share their thoughts on our workplace culture and what it's like working at Knight Frank Australia.
We partnered with Jobsupport.
Earlier this year, we partnered with Jobsupport, a leading employment service that helps to provide permanent employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.
Partnerships such as these further re-establish our aim to be an equal opportunity employer and to support a diverse group of people regardless of any impairment, disability or health condition.
We heard from Winnie Royale, and Daniel Kowalski during Pride Month.
At Knight Frank, we champion a diverse and inclusive workplace. Each year we celebrate Pride month and provide learning and development programs that focus on LGBTQIA+ awareness and education. Initiatives are based around supporting colleagues of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
During Pride Month, we were lucky to hear from two-time Olympic swimmer, Daniel Kowalski, who spoke to us about his experience coming out in the public eye. During an impressive career, Daniel overcame adversity on many occasions. He's undergone career threatening surgery four times, beaten crippling depression and anxiety, fronted media conferences to discuss Stilnox bans, and came out publicly.
We also hosted a Drag Trivia session with Winnie Royale which tested the teams' knowledge of LGBTQIA+ history, sport, and culture.
We supported the Property Council of Australia's Champions of Change Coalition.
- We joined our property sector peers in a new initiative designed to ensure women play a meaningful role in major leasing and capital transaction assignments through the Property Champions of Change, and the Property Council of Australia. This initiative aims to ensure at least one woman is part of the bid and receiving teams on both sides of any transaction. We still have a way to go before there's equal representation of women in all transactions but, over time, we pledge to help change that and improve the talent pipeline and career prospects for women in the property industry.
- We supported the United Nations 16 Days of Activism campaign an annual international campaign that runs from 25 November through to 10 December and calls for the elimination of domestic and family violence. We joined the Property Council of Australia Council Champions of Change Coalition on an initiative to illuminate more than 70 landmarks around the country in purple lights.
We continued to develop our Reconciliation Action Plan.
We are focused on creating a culture that is supportive of people from all ethnic and religious backgrounds.
As part of this commitment, we have developed our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and now working towards the next phase in reconciliation, our Innovate RAP. Through our RAP we have recognised and celebrated the unique heritage and significant contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have made to our country, while also making meaningful change to our business practices around the nation with a goal of building lasting partnerships and enhancing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Each year we celebrate Harmony Day, NAIDOC Week, and Reconciliation Week in acknowledgement of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples.
