_Recognising RU OK? Day
Kristin Hay, Head of People & Culture and Ben Schubert, Head of Institutional Sales were joined by Tasman Cassim, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Black Dog Institute to virtually present to Knight Frank Australia on how we can support each other's mental wellbeing not just for R U OK? Day but every day.
R U OK? is a harm prevention charity that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives.
Their work focuses on building the motivation, confidence and skills of the help-giver – the person who can have a meaningful conversation with someone who is struggling with life and contributes to suicide prevention efforts by encouraging people to invest more time in their personal relationships and building the capacity of informal support networks.
This event coincided with Knight Frank’s Global Day of Giving and as part of this initiative, we have chosen Black Dog Institute as our national charity partner and will be making a donation as well as dollar matching our people’s contributions.
Black Dog Institute is a not-for-profit facility for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. As the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, their aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.
Although lockdown restrictions prevented many social gatherings, our teams in Perth and Adelaide were able to enjoy some morning tea and cupcakes during the event.
Our goal is for everyone in our workplace to feel connected and supported through life’s challenges, and make meaningful moments to ask each other how they’re really going.
