A massive, multi-purpose storage facility with large workshop and accommodation located in Karratha in the heart of Western Australia’s Pilbara mining region is to be sold by Knight Frank.
Known as “The Facility”, the modern, 28 hectare property was established to support various mining operations.
It is located on the Dampier Karratha Highway across the road from Karratha Airport and is surrounded on three sides by Rio Tinto’s Pilbara iron rail operations.
Knight Frank’s Sales & Leasing Executive, Industrial, WA Sam Hammond said The Facility was the only property of its kind in Karratha and was the largest and best located privately held operations base in the Pilbara.
He said it featured a factory/workshop building of approximately 1,600 square metres on a 3,800 square metre high strength concrete slab. Planned building extensions could see the building footprint increase to around 3,400 square metres.
“This is a serious industrial operation with quad roadtrain access in and out from the highway and the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline passing through the property,” Mr Hammond said.
“This would allow for an inexpensive future connection to vast supplies of natural gas from the Burrup Peninsular that is just 15 kilometres away.
“Horizon Power’s 132kV and 33kV transmission lines also run through The Facility, allowing for easy connection to mains power.”
Mr Hammond said annual outgoings for The Facility were less than $40,000.
It will be sold by Offers to Purchase.
