Melbourne based property developer, Above Zero, has announced an Australian-first collaboration, partnering with internationally renowned and UK based designer, Tom Dixon and highly acclaimed Australian firms Cera Stribley and Eckersley Gardens, to deliver a landmark residential apartment development in Studley Park, Kew.

Nestled within inner Melbourne's largest expanse of natural bush land, Rondure House sets a new precedent in refined living. This is a place of rare brilliance - a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

Of French origin, the word 'Rondure' refers to gracefully rounded curves. These shapes, inspired by nature, form the distinctive architecture of Rondure House. To deliver a product not ever offered before in Australia, Cera Stribley engaged UK based Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio in an Australian residential first, to create the interiors in conjunction with the creative director of Cera Stribley, Lucy Marcyzk.

The architecture will see off-form concrete hyperbolic concrete columns serve as both a decorative and structural function allowing for glazed corners that showcase the protected views of Studley Park and vast open plan living spaces inside. The 1,710sqm site will be developed into a luxury residential development with only 14 north or west facing apartments including a whole floor penthouse that will offer panoramic views to the city and the Macedon ranges.

An abundance of North and West facing light floods in via the façade’s bold architectural framing, conceived to generate a sense of space as well as provide protected views out to private balconies, Studley Park and beyond. The intention was to provide future residents with a highly considered and quality setting to experience the exceptional views or large open and expansive gardens from each apartment. Eckersley have also designed the project with a green roof that along with the plantation of canopy trees throughout the large site, ensure the building fits in seamlessly with Studley Park’s highly revered tree canopies.

Hidden gems can be found in the form of opulent joinery pieces, Tom Dixon’s lighting mastery and a magnificent custom designed fireplace, entertaining bar and low-slung TV cabinet. Refined and intelligently considered kitchens feature Moleanos Limestone, brushed steel Gaggenau appliances positioned behind the robust form of an expansive kitchen island. Bathrooms at Rondure House present a masterful example of form and function with their use of delicate brass ledges, spectacular mosaic tiles, expansive mirrors and Brodware tapware.

Cera Stribley have also worked closely with Tom Dixon Design Research Studio to formulate a very unique concept ‘The Vaults’. These are privately titled multi-purpose rooms for each residence, located off the central core of the Opal Bar and Lounge on the ground floor. Each Vault will be approximately 10sqm in size and will be fully customisable to each purchaser, based on how they choose to utilise the space.

The vaults will act as an extension of resident’s homes and can be a place to escape or entertain. The multiple uses include art or collector’s studio, a private theatre or meditation room, or something more specific such as a private office, cigar room, wine or whiskey cellar or even a cycling or golf simulator.  Residents of the building will be greeted with a grand lobby and art gallery on ground level and a porte-cochere in the basement, along with a Tom Dixon designed and furnished Opal Bar and Lounge - allowing residents to enjoy a morning coffee with their partner or an evening drink with guests and neighbours.
